Happy New Year, everyone!
I know, I’ve been slacking over the past month… At least I can say I feel refreshed and ready to get back stuck into blogging again.
Every January seems to be the same for me, existing clients remember that they have a website and all of a sudden various new clients remember that they could be doing online marketing for their sites. So, I’ve been busy with proposals and meetings, which are very time-consuming, as many of you will concur with me .
But don’t despair!
I’ve already thought of a few things to write about. As over the Christmas period I always seem to be catching up on my reading, I will be reviewing 2 books pretty soon. One of them is Janice Reddish’s “Letting go of the words”, a really informative book on web content, which goes well beyond writing words (hence the title), which I really enjoyed reading, as well as “Guidelines for Online Success” by Rob Ford and Julius Wiedemann, a great book on Do’s and Don’ts of the internet with lots of amazing pictures of great websites but more about that in my review.
In the following months you can also expect to hear a lot more about the German market, as I’m about to embark on a a couple of new projects geo-targeting Germany. I’m very excited about that, as I’ve always enjoyed multi-lingual online marketing projects and it’s always good to keep using your mothertongue once in a while.
I hope all of you are experiencing a good start to the New Year and hope that you will continue to stop by my blog!

After almost 3 months of juggling 2 jobs (or more like 1 1/2), I have finally handed over my responsibilities, as SEO Manager at Dog Digital to Richard Shove, a talented, like-minded SEO. I´m glad that I could pass my clients confidently over, not something I´ve always achieved in the past. SEOs can be very protective over their clients, as over the course of a project strong relationships are built.
I´m quite sad, it´s almost an end of an era, however, I just need to look out of the window where even in October the sun still shines. Yep, Barcelona has it´s benefits for sure! So whilst trying to get my head round the Spanish language, I will have enough time to finally get this blog prospering and Barcelona will hopefully give me the inspiration I need!
Thanks to everyone who has been given me a lot of encouragement over the past 2 months. It´s good to know that there are actually some people follow my views and thoughts on SEO and online marketing.

After numerous months of being very quiet, I’ve decided it’s time to get back into the swing of things and get blogging. Especially one of my former workmates, Kilian Valkhof, Front end develeloper and User experience designer, pointed out that back in Holland he doesn’t link back to people who don’t blog! And that is a fair point indeed!
One reason for my absence is that I’ve had a busy few months. I’ve had big changes in my life, such as moving to Barcelona in Spain for good, which unfortunately meant that I had to leave Dog Digital, still the best agency I’ve worked at yet. Well, I said leave but at the moment I’m juggling two jobs, still working for Dog on a part-time basis from the Barcelona satellite office
and also in my new job at Properazzi, the international property search engine.
To be honest I was very hesitant going back onto the client side, especially after interviewing many people from the “dark side”, who supposedly call themselves “SEO specialists” and present a very poor grasp of SEO. Although, I can’t generalise there, as one of my new colleagues, James Omdahl aka the Marketingpunk, who is based in Denver, is one of the most knowledgable SEOs I’ve met in a long time.
Anyway, this is the start of a new beginning. Only another month of two jobs and I will be able to dedicate many more hours to beautiful SEO chat!
Hasta luego!
